Merrilee Cunningham is Associate Professor of English at the University of Houston Downtown where she has taught since 1974.  Her research and teaching interests are in Shakespeare studies, Shakespeare and film, Mythology, freshman English, remedial English, Renaissance and Medieval poetry, prose, and Renaissance drama.  She is a lifetime member of the Milton Society of America.  She has been a member of the staff of the Jesse Jones Institute for 7 years and with Prof. Lisa Read and Dr. Anjoo Sikka led the Summer in England group on its first annual literary trek through London, Stratford, Bath, Stonehenge and Oxfordshire, where she worked in cooperation with the Urban Education Dept.  She is a member of the Learning Communities Team teaching grant and taught with Mike Judge and David Morales on a three-person team in the fall of 2000.
